Lima, the city of kings
Lima is the capital of Peru located on the arid Pacific coast of the country. Although its colonial center is preserved, it is an overflowing metropolis and one of the largest cities in South America. The Larco Museum houses a collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museum of the Nation traces the history of Peru’s ancient civilizations. The Plaza de Armas and the 16th century cathedral are the core of the old center of Lima.
We start the day with the colonial city tour in the historic center of Lima, visit the Plaza San Martin, the main square, the Cathedral, and the government palace in a panoramic way, then we walk on foot through the beautiful streets of downtown the Santo Domingo convent where we will make an internal visit and we will see a lot of colonial art, as well as an extraordinary architecture, mainly Andalusian style. After a delicious lunch in the historic center we will go to the modern and touristic districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, we will visit the beautiful olive trees and oldest of Peru as well as the beautiful park of love, inspired by the Park Güell of Barcelona. Return to the hotel, free afternoon. Night at the hotel.
Breakfast buffet. Transfer to the largest archaeological site in Lima, Pachacamac. We will visit its site museum with collections of huacos, textiles and extraodinary archaeological remains. Then we will visit the archaeological site on foot, where we will see a complex of pyramids, as well as the famous temple of the sun and its red walls. -Return to the hotel.
