Memories of an empire

Early in the morning we will depart to Paracas. Stop for the visit to the archaeological site of Pachacámac. Lunch at the restaurant D Paso with equestrian show, Peruvian race of recreational horses known for the sweetness of their movements. We continue to Paracas, a very pleasant coastal city located in the Ica region. Installation in the hotel and free time in the late afternoon for a personal discovery of the city or to fly over the Nazca lines (subject to weather conditions, to pay and reserve on the site). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

In the morning, boat ride through the Ballestas Islands, an important natural reserve that houses marine animals and bird colonies. We continue to the entrance door of the town of Ica towards the Huacachina oasis. Visit of a pisco winery with tasting. Lunch then return to Lima. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Early in the morning transfer to the airport and flight to Cusco. Departure to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visit the archaeological site of Pisac that dominates the town and walk to the colorful market. Lunch. Visit the ceramic workshop of the Seminary. Artists use local clay for their creations, resorting to pre-Columbian techniques. Continue to Ollantaytambo and visit the ruins of this impressive Inca fortress. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Departure to the town of Chinchero to discover its archaeological site and its colonial equation. Continue to the ruins of Moray, circular terraces that serve as an agricultural research center for the Incas, and then continue to the salt mines of Maras. Lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ollantaytambo station. Departure by 2nd class train to Aguas Calientes. Installation in the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Transfer to Machu Picchu and discover the lost city of the Incas built on the slopes of the Huayna Picchu mountain. Return to Aguas Calientes for lunch. Return by train to Ollantaytambo and then on the way to Cuzco. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

In the morning, visit the archaeological sites of Q’enqo, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and Sacsayhuaman. Walk to the Plaza de Armas of Cuzco. Lunch. In the afternoon, discover Cusco on foot: the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral (outside), the Coricancha, also called “Temple of the Sun” and the district of San Blas. Dinner with folklore show. Overnight at the hotel.

Flight to Arequipa, the “white city”. Installation in the hotel and walking tour of the city center: the Plaza de armas, the cathedral (exterior), the Church of the Compañía de Jesús and its cloister with a unique architecture, the San Camilo market … Lunch in course of visit. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Visit the monastery of Santa Catalina, a real city in the city, with its narrow streets, fountains and flowery patios. Lunch in a picanteria. Visit to the Andean Sanctuary Museum. Afternoon and free dinner. Night at the hotel

Road to Puno through the magnificent landscapes of Pampa Cañahuas where you can see vicuñas, llamas, alpacas and guanacos. Lunch then visit the necropolis of Sillustrani. Continue towards Puno. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Transfer to the port of Puno and board a motorboat to reach the Uros Islands. We continue to the island of Taquile, where about 3,000 people live in community. Welcome by the community in traditional dress and lunch of local specialties. Free time and then return by boat to Puno. Dinner with animation of popular dances of the region. Overnight at the hotel.

Transfer to Juliaca airport and flight to Lima. End of our services.
